Investor Behavior: Aggregate Applications of Inferred Information, Typologies, and Behavioral Risk


The study of investor behavior has many practical approaches. When applied across aggregated conviction trades and aggregated unwinding trades, it can deliver multiple layers of insight into investment risk and performance potential.

In this session, Alex Cheema-Fox, head of Flow and Positioning Research at State Street Associates, applies the concepts of inferred information and trade typology, in aggregate form, to timing markets across asset classes and identifying different regimes of aggregate investor behavior. He also introduces a new measure to combine behavioral and mental sentiment at the country level, the Country Scorecard.
